About School

In the year 1984 Mumbai Utkal Samiti started an English medium school by the name "Mumbai Utkal English High School", to cater to the educational needs of the lower middle class people residing in the local communities of Kurla, Mumbai. The initiative was to provide the best possible English medium education within the affordable fees. The High School is recognized by the Dept. of Education, Govt. of Maharashtra and has been recognized as a “Minority Educational Institution”. There are about 600 students studying in the school. Moreover, we have a committed band of 16 teachers (2 teachers in the K.G. Section, 5 teachers in the Primary section and 9 teachers in the Secondary section and last but not the least 2 teachers in the Oriya Medium). We have 2 administrative staff and 2 support staff, who are committed and dedicated towards the institution. With all our teaching and non-teaching staff’s spirit of dedication and the guidance they offer to our students, have had much to do with its progress and attaining its desired objectives. There are several co-curricular and extracurricular activities carried out towards the overall development of the children from pre-primary to Higher Secondary.

Mumbai Utkal English high school marked the humble beginning of a gratifying odyssey in 1983. With a vision of sculpting the world of education with undying verse. As time flipped its pages, the school filled its canvas with tireless strife and with each stroke of brush, it grew a step closer in making it’s own master piece.

From being a corner stone in helping students dream, visualize and plan for their future, as it like a single candle light a thousand more and eradicate the darkness of ignorance. The credentials of the school speaks for itself through the success of its students who left their trial In traversed paths and have progressed in every conceivable field. A acknowledging the many indelible achievements , the school today moves with a vision of providing its children with all possible facilities to help them be good and successful persons in their life.

In this span of 31 eventful years, MUEHS has laid a solid foundation , standards of excellence and hallmark. It believes in imparting values and continues to keep doing the good work ahead.

Each child is a unique creation of God and is blessed with individual identity of merit. We encourage our children to work hard toward achieving their goals with confidence, consistency and concentration. In motivating a child to became a good human being and grow wings of ambition and help him soar like falcon to touch the sky.

We believe in teaching a child to experience and appreciate the real wonders of the world and create symphony in his heart which exudes pure music.

1. 100% pass result in SSC Board Exam:

We are glad to share with you all, that are school is getting 100% pass result in the SSC Board exams since last 3 years.
Keeping up with the tradition of excellence in academics, the SSC students performed extremely well in the March, 2011 Board Exam. The dedicated, focused and consistent efforts of the teachers, the facilitators, parents and the students has been manifested in this year’s commendable result.

3. New Infrastructure:

There are new infrastructure and maintenance of the existing one. The “Utkal Hall” (School Hall) has a completely new look with vitrified tiles on the floor and full wall tiles. The green boards have added more value to the class rooms in the hall. All the class rooms are painted and are decorated with the newly made posters and banners by the students.
The students and the staff are provided with well-furnished state of art toilets and washrooms, which is of great importance.

4. Computer Lab:

The computer lab got shifted to a dedicated air-conditioned room, with a 10 computers latest computers and proper sitting arrangements for the students. With unlimited Internet connection, the computer lab is utilized for the on-line admissions of the SSC passed students from the school. The students are able to access internet for various information and data collection. This is the first step towards the “Digital Learning”.

5. Environment friendly initiatives:

The school management provided a bore well with automated system for the regular use of water for the students. This is a major achievement in saving the environment as a whole and water in particular.

Computer Section

The computer section is capable of providing the best digital technology, with the latest computer systems, LAN networking and unlimited internet connection. The students are taught the latest syllabus in Information Technology, through thorough software and hardware knowledge.
The Computer Lab has 10 Computers with an arrangement for 20 students to sit and learn in an air conditioned room. All the students in the school from Std I to X learn computers as a subject under Work Experience.
The computer section provides the required facilities for e-learning, on-line admissions, projects and assignments for teachers and students.
It also facilitates in Question Paper framing and printing, documentation, electronic communication etc.

Oriya Medium

We are happy to inform you that we have an Odiya medium school, which was the foundation for providing educational support for the Odiya community people from the nearby areas. The Oriya medium has 2 dedicated teachers and 30 students from Std I to IV. Though the no of students is very less, the spirit is very high. Apart from the regular studies, the students learn the Oriya tradition and culture through different festivals, cultural events and activities. All the students of the Oriya medium get free education along with the educational material.
